Rural artisan embroidery

The Roots of Mithali Naari

Born from a passion to preserve fading craft legacies, Mithali Naari Collective Foundation began as a small cluster of seven women artisans in Maharashtra, and grew into a registered Section 8 movement.

Historically, rural women held incredible craft wisdom—passed down through generations—yet remained structurally excluded from contemporary market dynamics. Middlemen dominated, value chains was fragmented, and young craftspeople abandoned ancient skills for city labor.

We stepped in to disrupt this loop. By structuring self-governing local artisan councils, standardizing design refinement labs, and establishing clean technology handlooms, we transformed ancestral knowledge into a resilient, dignified asset class.

"True heritage preservation doesn't look like a museum cabinet; it looks like an artisan receiving a fair wage directly into her own bank account."

What Guides Our Mission

Our Vision

To establish a global standard where traditional craftsmanship is celebrated as highly valuable premium art, nurturing localized craft economies that guarantee financial self-determination for every woman artisan.

Our Mission

To secure livelihoods by building sustainable self-help group ecosystems, offering contemporary design upskilling, implementing green dye techniques, and bridging rural producers straight to global trade arenas.

Our Core Values

Radical trade transparency, reverence for generational techniques, ecological stewardship of local raw materials, and collective autonomy—fostering communities run entirely by the artisans themselves.

Systemic Change Over Charity

We don't believe in temporary aid handouts. We focus on transforming the supply chain architectures so rural communities grow sustainably and autonomously.

01

Transparent Value

Artisans retain full direct visibility on product retail pricing. Middlemen markups are eliminated completely, resulting in up to 3x higher baseline earnings.

02

Design Incubators

We translate historic patterns into chic modern utility styles—making handlooms fit seamlessly into modern apartments, boutiques, and fashion portals.

03

Ecological Integrity

By standardizing organic plant-based dyes, natural fiber collection, and zero-waste fabric tailoring, we protect the fragile ecosystems of rural towns.

04

Digital Inclusion

Every artisan receives access to smart devices, basic e-banking access, and leadership workshops, helping bridge the rural digital gender gap.

Leadership & Craft Curators

A dedicated coalition of social designers, developmental experts, and community leaders steering the craft revolution forward.
